Brett's second run back in a Clubman
Brett competed his second time back in clubman for over 10 years, at
geelong.
He struggled to get on the pace early but by the final was starting to get there.
He wasn't happy running around in the back half of the field and realised he would
have to put in quite a bit of effort to re-establish himself again in clubman. He has since
decided to retire for good and sell everything and persue some of his other interests.
All the karting gear we have, including the Trailer, and
many Arrow spare parts are FOR SALE.

Brett's first run back in a Clubman
Brett competed his first time back in clubman for over 10 years, at the
Club Championships at Todd Road in November.
He got one practice session and straight into it, qualifying mid field, got mixed
results in the heats, and started on grid 3 for the final. He produced some very fast laps
in the final and tried to take second on the last lap, but unfortunately spun the kart
out of contention.
We were very happy with the overall results, showing that he should be very competitive when
we start racing this comming season.

Brett switching to Clubman
Over the last few months there has not been good fields in Rotax Light, with the exception
of the major events, so Brett is selling the Rotax outfit and moving back to clubman heavy
where there is much more competition.
We have competed at the Victorian Open Champs, and Rotax Pro Tour events at Newcastle,
Melbourne, & Raleigh, with Brett finishing in the top 5 or 6 at all events.

Lifestyle Fittness - our newest sponsor
Lifestyle Fittness has decided to come on board to support Davidson's Precision Racing.
Thanks to the staff at Lifestyle Fittness, Brett has lost quite a bit of weight, and is now
fitter than ever.
If you want to achieve similar fittnes or loose some ballust, get into Lifestyle Fittnes here.

Brett now racing Rotax Light
Brett has been in the Gym getting fit and has lost a bit of weight, he now has to run Rotax
light because he can not make the kart weight 100kg maximum.
It has been several years since Brett ran Rotax light and he has to learn the set-up all
over again. Our testing has been encouraging, but until you race it is hard to guage where
you are relative to the competition.
We had our first race for 2009 in Rotax light at Geelong last weekend and were quite
happy with the performance in dry conditions, but need to do a bit of work on our wet set-up.
Brett was third quickest in the prefinal in the dry, and finished 6th. He was looking
forward to the final to see if some minor changes gave him enough to win, but we were beaten
by the rain and had to test the wet set-up again. He finished 7th and not happy with the weather.

Happy New Year
Davidson's Precision Racing would like to wish you all the very best for 2009.
We have had some difficulties with this site in the last year, but have now shifted to a new
host and things should improve from now on.
Brett, and Darren Anderson competed in the MoJo 4hr Enduro at Todd Rd before Christmas and had
the bad luck to have a $2 ignition switch fail, which took about 30 laps to find, consequently putting
them out of contention. This problem could be the cause of some of the problems we have encountered
for several months, the switch looked good from outside, but was broken inside and causing intermitent
loss of ignition.
I guess you can check and double check things and still have something go wrong.

2008 Rotax Nationals. - GKCV Todd Rd.
Brett struggled to get the set-up right and qualified 10th in a very competitive field of Rotax Heavy drivers.
Just 1 second separated the top 34 drivers.
With a 3rd, 5th. & a 6th in the heats, Brett started on grid 9 for the pre-final and finished 9th.
The weekend was looking pretty grim, we just couln't find the set-up.
For the final we changed a couple of things and it improved the performance considerably allowing Brett
to post his best time for the weekend and get up to 5th before getting a small touch from Mike Godsell
as he went past, breaking a tie rod and finished our race.
Final results.
1. Kel Treseder 2. Mike Godsell 3. Rick Pringle 4. William Yarwood 5. Andrew Torville

City of Melbourne Titles - GKCV Todd Rd.
Brett had his worst qualifiing for years, 19th in wet conditions. Brett is usally extremely good in
the wet, but this time our set-up was way off.
The weather slowly improved over the weekend and so did our performance, slowly sneaking forward each
heat and finished the prefinal in 6th. Brett continued to improve in the final and finished in 3rd.
Final results.
1. Luc Price 2. Rick Pringle 3. Brett Davidson 4. Reece Broady 5. Mike Godsell

All Stars Series Round 3 - Geelong.
After a poor showing in the heats and pre-final, we turned the kart set-up inside out ready to try anything,
and it payed off, Brett was able to finish the final in 3rd.
Final results.
1. Rick Pringle 2. Brad Wyatt 3. Luc Price 4. Reece Broady 5. Matt Pearson

All Stars Series Round 2 - GKCV Todd Rd.
Brett had good performances in the heats and pre-final, and was looking good in the final until the 10th lap
where he suffered a set-back putting him back to 9th and eventually finishing 8th.
Final results.
1. Rick Pringle 2. Ashley Pollard 3. Brett Davidson 4. Nathan Van Es 5. Mark Tracey

All Stars Series Round 1 - Oakleigh.
This was our first meeting on the MoJo D2 tyres so everyone was still trying to find the best set-up,
and although Brett set the pace in the heats, he could not quite match Rick Pringle in the final.
Final results.
1. Rick Pringle 2. Brett Davidson 3. Luc Price 4. Reece Broady 5. Steve Johnson

2008 Victorian Open Championships - Geelong.
Brett qualified third in a very competitive field of Rotax Heavy drivers. Conditions over the weekend
were cold and cloudy one minute, then a little rain, with some warm sunny times as well,
so it was a bit challenging for all drivers.
Brett found a little in the heats and prefinal, and moved up to start on grid 2 for the final.
Pringle had a near perfect set-up for the final, along with Myers, and Torville, Brett could
not quite match it and finished forth.
Final results.
1. Rick Pringle 2. Liam Myers 3. Andrew Torville 4. Brett Davidson 5. Luc Price

13-December-2007
4Hour Enduro - GKCV Todd Road.
Brett teamed up with Darren Anderson for the enduro and they qualified about 10th,
and even with a stop to replace a broken chain losing at least 3 laps, managed to finish
7th just 3 laps down.
Darren and Brett were both very satasfied with their fist attempt at an enduro.
7-December-2007
2007 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final - Al Ain Raceway in Uinted Arab Emirates.
Although Brett won his spot to compete at the grand final quite easily, it meant
that he would be racing a class that was completely new to him. He had never raced
at kart with either front brakes, or a gearbox, both requiring quite different driving
techniques.
As there is no competition for DD2 in Australia, all we could hope for was
that there were a few drivers from other countries in the same situation, (not so).
Consequently, Brett's results were as we expected, and with the bad luck he also had in
the heats, (an engine main bearing failure in the warm up, a major crash in the first heat,
and a 10sec penalty in the second heat) he did not qualify for the finals.
Tom Williamson, the other Australian competitor in DD2, had experience racing ICC for
12 months which gave him a good grounding for DD2, and did extremely well finishing 4th
in the final.
Although the race results were not good, we still thoroughly enjoyed the experience racing
at Al Ain, it was the worlds biggest karting event ever in the history of karting, and was
considerably improved from our first experience at the inaugral event in Puerto Rico 6
years ago.
The Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final is now a true world karting championship,
and is a prize that should be vigorously sort after in the future.
7-September-2007
2007 Rotax Nationals.
Brett had a disappointing qualifying at Ipswich, managing only 14th. It was the first
time we had seen the Ipswich track, and like most drivers at there first outing there,
had difficulties getting a good set-up. After many major chassis changes, he managed to
make inroads on the front runners during the heats and prefinal, and finished 6th
in the final. The final results were;
1. Kel Treseder 2. William Yarwood 3. Matthew Worling 4. Matt Greenbury 5. Matt Solman
20-August-2007
A thrilling final for Rotax Heavy at City of Melbourne Titles.
Brett qualified 2nd, 0.129 seconds behind Luke Price, with Brad Wyatt
and Ashley Pollard close behind him. The first 6 grid spots didn't change
until the final, Brett started on pole, with Luke on grid 2. Brett won
the start but had an engine hiccup and lost 7 places on the first turn.
He then put in some really quick times and managed to catch Luke and passed
him, but Luke wasn't giving in and took the lead again. With only a short
distance to go Brett passed Luke again, and once again Luke prevailed
and went on to win. The final results were;
1. Luke Price 2. Brett Davidson 3. Ashley Pollard 4. Brad Wyatt 5. Jason Stania

6-August-2007
Yet another clean sweep at Geelong and Brett has now secured his trip
to Dubai for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final.
We have been doing a bit of testing the last few weeks and it looks like it is paying dividends.
Brett had been struggling to keep in front of his competitors the last few meetings, and
with the Nationals coming up, we thought it was time to improve. We found a little in
the carby set-up and a little in the engine configuration, just enough to find a tenth
or two all together. Nice to see Jason Stania back in a Rotax. Brett won all four races,
most with a comfortable margin. The final results were;
1. Brett Davidson 2. Brad Wyatt 3. Jason Stania 4. Nathan Van Es 5. Tony Ciccone

Brett scored good points at Albury.
Brett has almost snatched the Rotax series win with just two round to go. He got plenty of
competition from the local drivers Mark Tracey and James Renolds with the final results being
1. Brett Davidson 2. Mark Tracey 3. Ashley Pollard
5-June-2007
Brett makes another clean sweep at Geelong.
Brett was just too strong for his competitors winning convincingly in all four races.

Brett gets more good points in the Rotax Series at Todd Road.
Brett struggled for pace most of the weekend but still managed to get a good third on the
day
Finishing order: Luke Price, Ashley Pollard, and Brett Davidson.
28-March-2007
Brett makes a clean sweep at Oakleigh.
Armed with a brand new Arrow AX9 B-Max, Brett set things right first up by putting it in the
mud a couple of times in the wet, first practice session for the weekend. However when it came to racing,
he showed the field just what an Arrow AX9 B-Max looks like from behind at a long distance.
Brett won all four Rotax Heavy races by a comfortable margin, the final results were
1. Brett Davidson 2. Lucas Price 3. Mark Tracey 4. Steve Johnson.

Brett 3rd at Victorian Open Championships.
After a good lead-up practice Brett qualified a close 2nd behind Kel Treseder, he could not
get a clear lap until the fifth lap and the best laps of the tyres was gone. He then had engine
problems in the second qualifier, and a flat right rear tyre in the first heat, finishing 9th.
So it was not a good start to the weekend.
He finished 2nd in the 2nd heat and 4th in a wet pre final.
Starting from grid 4 in the final on another wet track, he quickly got to the front
and pulled away from the field, but the track was drying very rapidly and the other front runners
caught and passed him by about lap 7 or 8. His team mate Luke Price slid into him as he was
about to pass, knocking Brett off the track and across the field. He was able to rejoin and
let the leaders through to regain his position and hold it to the finish.
Finishing order: Kel Treseder, Nathan van Es, Brett Davidson, Luke Price, Brad Wyatt.

Brett wins Southern City Classic and Tri City Series.
Brett had another good win at Oakleigh, once again he won all races except
heat 2, where he and Luke Price had an incident turning Brett around and
back to the rear of the field. He managed to get up to 7th putting him
on grid 4 for the pre-final. The final results were 1. Brett Davidson
2. Lucas Price 3. Alex Marcelic.

Brett wins City of Melbourne Titles.
We finally sorted out our engine problems and got down to the task of winning races.
The main source of our problems was the power valve spring, and the settings to suit it.
We somehow got a spring that had a different spring rate to most, and we did not get it
working the way it should causing all sorts of problems, always disguised as something else. I
guess that's motor racing.
Brett qualified second, just .03secs behind Luke Price and went on to win all races except the second
heat where he came second. The final results were
1. Brett Davidson 2. Brad Wyatt 3. Lucas Price 4.Ashley Pollard.

Brett 4th at Newcastle.
After much testing and engine rebuilding prior to going to Newcastle for
the Rotax Australian National Championships, we were still have problems
with our engine on the first practice day on Thursday, but finally tracked
the cause to the Power Valve. We still have not fully identified exactly
what was wrong but expect it to be either the spring or the bellows.
Brett qualified 9th and spat a chain in the first heat so not a good start
to the event, he finished in 6th and 7th in the next 2 heats which gave
him grid 14 for the pre-final. He finished that strongly in 7th place
giving him grid 7 for the final. From there the best we could expect was
4th or 5th, so finishing 4th was a real accomplishment and we will now
look ahead to the next event The City of Melbourne Titles on september
16th & 17th.
Congratulations go to Willie Yarwood for qualifying on pole and taking
out his 4th straight title.
Congratulations also to Newcastle local driver and Jet-Plus user Todd
Davey, he managed to qualify just 0.07secs behind William on grid two,
Todd was on grid 3 for the final and looking very good for a podium but
unfortunately didn't finish.
Kel Treseder put in a strong performance all weekend finishing 2nd,
Jared Carlyle finished third, and
Tom Williamson finished behind Brett in fifth place.

Brett gets another 2nd at Geelong.
Although Brett was consistently the fastest in the field he had problems
with his kart not accelerating fully out of some corners, and it cost
him dearly. We have not been able to track down the problem as yet, but
will report here with the cure, if and when we find it.

Rotax Jetting in UK.
Although we have received feedback from various parts of the world to suggest that Jet-Plus
calibration is very good, we also have received feedback that Rotax Max 125 jetting generally used in the
U.K. is considerably leaner than the supplied Jet-Plus calibration. We have not been able to find a
conclusive reason for this difference but wish to advise Jet-Plus users to create a "New" vehicle and
calibrate it to suit.
As we get more accurate information we will create a new vehicle file and make it available

Brett 2nd at Victorian Open Championships.
Engine and set-up problems during the early sessions made qualifying a
bit difficult but he still managed 5th fastest in a top class field. After
qualifying we changed engines and started to get the chassis set-up sorted
out. A first corner incident in the first heat put him back to a long
last and finish last, but he managed to get through the heats with enough
points to to start on grid 5 for the pre-final and finished that in 5th
place making it a grid 5 start for all races. In the final Brett was very
determined to win and gave it all he had but with the accumulating effects
of the early problems we didn't get it quite good enough and he had to
see his team mate Aron Rintoul take the honours with Kel Treseder behind
in third.
28-Nov-2005
Brett robbed of chance to win South Australian State Championships.
Brett set the pace in the first qualifying session with 36.141 in poor track conditions
after producing times of 35.6's in practice.
With the weather changing and making the track considerably faster for
the second qualifying session, Brett was unable to get a good clear lap
and managed to only slightly improve with 35.966 and was pushed back to
4th overall.
Through the heats there was very little between Kel Treseder, Michael
Pereira, and Brett, and the final looked like going down to the wire with
any of the three to win. After changing positions several times in the
early laps they settled down with Treseder in the lead, Brett right behind
and Pereira right behind Brett. With about 8 laps to go Michael took a
chance to go under Brett but they came together and both lost 10 or 20
lengths on Kel with not enough time to catch up, and they finished,
1 Kel Treseder, 2 Brett Davidson, 3 Michael Pereira, 4 Bradley Moody, 5 Ben Walter.
